(Clarksdale, Mississippi) By CORINNE VANCE
If your life were a book, would it be short or packed and overflowing with memories from the past? Would it be funny and full of joy, or dull and uninteresting? Would it fly off bookstore shelves and be impossible to keep in stock, or would only a few copies end up buried beneath the cobwebs? If your life is a book, make it a hit.
The best books are ones that are falling apart. The pages feel like silk from reader’s hands having traced over every line. The corners of the book are rounded and the binding of the pages is about to pop, struggling to contain all the wonders held inside. That’s the type of book I want my life to become.
Live your life in such a way that it will be considered a hit. Fill your numbered days with more than enough happiness and love so the pages will barely fit. Push the limits, break the rules, and tear apart the seams.
The scrapbook images below were recently made for a friend I graduated from high school with, Ben True. I made the scrapbook so he would have something to look back on in the years to come and to help him remember his high school years and playing football. After completing the scrapbook, I was unable to fit the pages in the book and had to buy extenders in order for it to close. Every photo on every page portrays so much happiness and life, much like Ben himself. This scrapbook was the inspiration for my article this week.
