Lovin’ Oxford Magazine and its lovin’. We are so very grateful for the love Oxford Magazine shows fellow Mississippians.
Have you read one yet? Two recent articles titled “A Home Built For Three” and “Last-Minute Summer Getaways” featured Clarksdalians. It’s never too late to read about Clarksdale. 😎
Oxford Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Alex McDaniel and Associate Publisher Connor Hegwood are producing a quality product under the leadership of Oxford Newsmedia President David Magee. We first met Hegwood when he and our Young & Free columnist were working for the new Oxford business Hunt Marketing.
A few months ago while reading Oxford Magazine, we were pleasantly surprised to read about our friends, Clarksdale native and now Oxford resident, artist Bradley Gordon, his wife, owner of Cicada, Anne Marie, and their precocious daughter Genevieve. The DB wrote about Bradley a few years ago in “Bradley Come Back To Clarksdale Town” when he was first launching his art career. Congratulations, Bradley, on all your success! We miss you, brother.
As I continued reading I came across another treasure—an article titled “Last-Minute Summer Getaways” by writer Ethel Mwedziwendira. “Pack a bag and jump in the car for one last summer trip to any of these charming Mississippi towns.” Ok, hooked me with that tag line to your article, Ethel!
Mwedziwendira highlighted five towns: Port Gibson, Water Valley, Leland, Corinth and Clarksdale!!! I’ve always said, Mississippians don’t need to travel very far for unique vacations; take a trip inside your own state and why wait for summertime? The Clarksdale Film Festival is happening this weekend! Much to see and do! (See articles below in gallery)
Visit Mississippi. visit Clarksdale and visit a Delta Bohemian® Company. Stay with me at the Clarksdale White House or the Delta Bohemian Guest House and don’t neglect to jump in Chilly Billy’s red Jeep for one of his fabulous Delta Bohemian Tours.
