Daedalus Howell interviews the legendary Bill Bowker about his long-lasting radio broadcasting career and his love of blues music and its roots. In their exchange, beginning around minute 13:13, Howell mentions the radio host’s new venture/venue by mentioning “Clarksdale….this is huge!” And they are off!

The delight that wells up in Bowker at the mention of Clarksdale is plain to see. For the remaining 18 minutes, Clarksdale, Grammy Award Winner Charlie Musselwhite, Developer Charles Evans, young blues musician Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Bill’s burgeoning ambition for a dedicated blues radio station based out of the Mississippi Delta town is tossed around in conversation.

Bowker has no plans of leaving his beloved KRUSH home, but he does have his radar fixed on Clarksdale and how he can broadcast from this little town which he holds a deep fascination and love for.

Even if you aren’t a die-hard blues lover, you will find this interview fascinating, informative and, if you love Clarksdale, exciting.
