VIDEO INTERVIEW IN POST
Founded in 1987 by the late Sri Chinmoy, the World Harmony Run(WHR) seeks to foster understanding, friendship and unity among all people groups and cultures. Visiting schools in more than 100 countries every second year, the WHR encourages school children to believe in and dream of a more harmonious world, one in which they can make a difference.
WHR runners were passing through Clarksdale two years ago on the 2010 trek. Two of the runners who spoke at Clarksdale High School then were back for another Delta visit along with several more volunteer runners during the 25th Anniversary 2012 USA 10,000 Mile Run.
Quapaw Canoe’s John Ruskey housed the 11-member team Monday night in the belly of the serpentine canoe company located on Sunflower Avenue overlooking the Sunflower River. Booker T. Washington Elementary School played host to the team for a noontime program on Tuesday.
Check out the brief interview with a few of the team members, who were breakfasting at Yazoo Pass in downtown Clarksdale. WROX Radio owner Paul Wilson conducted and aired an interview with team members and Jessie Wright, the amazingly prolific writer for the Clarksdale Press Register, who was on hand and will surely have an excellent article about the WHR.
