If you grew up in the Mississippi Delta, you never thought twice about having to drive to get where you wanted to go. An hour drive to Lusco’s Restaurant is one of our favorites. Ole Miss is an hour and 15. Then you have to figure that same amount of time on the back end when you head home. No big deal, if you are from the Delta.
That is why I didn’t balk, I only smiled, when I heard friend Larry Tucker, FNP built and opened the Westside Family Medical Clinic in my hometown Sumner, Mississippi, 19 miles down the road from Clarksdale.
Larry doctored on my family for years when he worked at the Sumner Clinic, a division of the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Tucker left that clinic and after a brief hiatus, he hired Rose Office Systems to build his new clinic. Thankfully he chose Sumner for it’s location.
Driving to eat and drink has never stopped me from getting in the car and now when I feel poorly, which isn’t very often but it does happen, I head on down Highway 49 and visit my friend Larry Tucker at the Westside Family Medical Clinic. First class, personal medical attention in a first class facility. Walk-ins are welcome and Dr. Tucker will even do house calls!
