Christone “KINGFISH” Ingram. Who is he and how did he get started in his music career?
It’s pretty simple. He started on drums. Then bass. Then guitar and vocals. He’s been playing ever since he was the age of 8 but he has been around music since the age of 3.
He was born on Tuesday, January 19, 1999 in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
He is presently in the 9th grade and is 14 years old as of today. In the video, filmed October 7, 2012, Christone was only 13 at the time.
The Delta Bohemian® has watched this young man mature personally and musically. He is not only gifted musically but a gifted learner in school.
Whenever the amazing Lucious Spiller is in town, he always has Ingram play with him. Young Hollywood from West Tally, who is the mere age of 12, joins them on drums. By the way, Lucious prefers to call him “KING” Chris. We like that too!
We are crazy about his mother, Princess, who accompanies Christone when he plays in public.
Enjoy this little snippet of his early talent. He has grown in profound ways musically since this fine Sunday afternoon at the Juke Joint Chapel out at the Shack Up Inn. Thanks in large part to his openness to learn from other musicians and their willingness to encourage him to find his gifting.
