“Big J” Milton Johnson, a salt of the earth Cleveland, Mississippi native loves old school cars. Madge interviews him about his 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air. Second generation business owner is the backbone of the Delta.
Two years ago on Thursday, December 17, 2015, after dining at the delectable Delta Meat Market, my path crossed with a friendly, born and raised, Cleveland, Mississippi native, partly because I was so enamored with an automobile…his striking 1961 Chevy Bel Air. I was fortunate the owner, Milton, was just getting out of it, so I approached him. The two of us visited and I interviewed him, impromptu, right on the spot. Took a few photographs of him as well. (See video and photographs below)
Our encounter (photos and audio) went into the massive vault of content both Chilly Billy and I have with the purposeful intention of sharing with you, our readers…..the “Some Day We Are Gonna Share This” vault, right next to the “Hidden Whim Years” vault. Two years passed.
Yesterday, while searching through my gallery of photographs, I came across Mr. Johnson and once again marveled at his vehicle and recognized the open door of opportunity. Perhaps now is the time to share…?!
Milton and I spoke on the phone today so I could be sure to have his current contact information in case folks near the Cleveland area need a professional plumber. I asked how he became a plumber and for how long. He told me his father was a plumber and young Milton was grandfathered in to the business of Johnson Plumbing: Bonded, Licensed and Insured. Oh, and by the way, Milton mentioned Saturday is his birthday! The long time Cleveland resident and business man, married for 27 years and blessed with three children, turns 60 this Saturday, December 9th! Perfect timing!
Happy Birth Day, “Big J” Milton Johnson. I pray you and your family have a joyous Christmas season and that Johnson Plumbing continues to thrive as well as your passion for refurbishing old school automobiles. Until we meet again. Peace. 💛 —Magical Madge

By the way, Milton established this phone number back when cellular required an old school bag phone. I remember when. 😎
