A Whim by POOR WILLIAM, a beer drinker, blues lover and fellow in need of a torch
(Clarksdale, Mississippi)
“Particularly enjoyed Red’s, any bar where the barman requires a torch to find the booze is a good spot!” — Tom and Laura, London

Clark House Residential Inn, where Poor William serves as innkeeper, just finished it’s first GUEST BOOK. Names, locales and awesome comments grace every page. Blues lovers from all over the world, famous and not-so-famous musicians, business travelers, family members coming for a visit and folks just passin’ through have all left footprints in the Delta and on the pages of something that is not electronic! Hallelujah! Wait, we do love tripadvisor reviews! J
Every single comment and scribble blesses us at Clark House. Two comments written on the last three pages of the first guest book bear mentioning, as the old book makes way for the new one:
John Clark Smith, great great grandson of Clarksdale founder, John Clark, was visiting recently with his father, the Rev. John Cutrer Smith, who is the last living relative of the Clark family to have lived in the Cutrer Mansion next door. Rev. Smith also resided in the Clark House almost 80 years ago.
Clark Smith wrote in the guestbook the following, “Dear Great Great Grandpa Clark—nice to be home.” Brought chills to this fellow, who doesn’t get cold very often!
The last entry in the book was penned just a couple day ago by Tom and Laura from London: “Beautiful house, accommodating knowledgeable host and, of course, a fantastic town. Particularly enjoyed Red’s (Reds Blues Club), any bar where the barman requires a torch to find the booze is a good spot!”
‘Bout sums it up! Have a great day! Say, where’s my lighter? pw
