Wednesday, September 26, 2012, 5-8 PM, Clarksdale, MS. – Bohemians, lovers of authenticity, locals, visitors, and even stray cats and a pigeon or two: A FREE RECEPTION for gifted local artist Randall Andrews is being held this very night in Clarksdale, Mississippi—Heart of the Mississippi Delta! Free means “an evening of art, wine and appetizers in categorically one of the coolest spots between the North and South Poles.
Clarksdale native son, gadabout town, and creator, collector and organizer of Delta Debris (found items) and so much more is exhibiting his insanely unique and eclectic mixed-media art pieces at the historic NEW ROXY open-air performance venue, located at 363 Issaquena Ave., in the New World District in downtown Clarksdale.
There is a gentle breeze blowing in the Delta today (physically and symbolically) and the excitement of fall is in the air. Fall around the world may be associated with the beginnings of decline and death! But, in the DELTA, we (I’m speaking for everybody here; I feel sure they wouldn’t mind) find joie de vivre in the remonstrations of fall, which cry: “Come join in a celebration of life, art, and the naturalness of authenticity and the authenticity of nature! Store up ye reserves of hope and good feelings for the winter months ahead.”

And congrats to Randall for such a cool, cool art show… and to Robin for hosting it in the South’s most amazing music/art venue… the NEW ROXY! (And… hey… where else can ya have an art show last night… Shakespeare’s Hamlet this Sun/Mon… and Robert “Bilbo” Walker and his blues wig rockin’ the house on Thursday??!?)
