Pinetop Perkins Homecoming Celebration

Malcolm Lightnin’ and Cameron Kimbrough

Two major gigs were going down in Hopson, Mississippi on Sunday, October 9th. The Shack Up Inn had local blues favorites, Cameron Kimbrough and Lightnin’ Malcolm rocking the Juke Joint Chapel stage, while next door at Hopson Commissary, the 11thAnnual Pinetop Perkins Homecoming event was taking place. Sadly, without Pinetop, who passed away this year just shy of his 98th birthday.

For those who have never been to a beer-drinking, blues-hearing, Sunday afternoon in Hopson, it is high time you did!

  1. Lovely post(s) Madge & Billy. You guys have no idea how much easier it is to be away from home with your constant photo documenting of the people in and coming through Clarksdale. I sure do miss y’all and my close friends. Thanks for putting a smile on my face today. Looking good, you two by the way.
