Mississippi Delta Bohemian Girl
has got The Blues
and calls herself the
MS Design Maven
Facebook has a knack for reconnecting old friends and for that I am grateful; Lambert, Mississippi native Marilyn Trainer Storey and I became friends on Facebook a while back. (We knew each other waaaaaaay back in the day!) Recently, she messaged me requesting we get together as she was making a journey to Clarksdale from Jackson for some research on the Delta for her design blog. This peaked my interest, of course. She gave me a link so I could read about what she has been up to. I clicked on it.
Let me tell you, this woman has a divine eye for design with an à la delta bohemian feel. I began exploring her blog and immediately fell in love with her unique appreciation for elegant, yet earthy, design by using photography, fabrics, interiors, landscapes and a multitude of inspirational images with historical and personal photos to illustrate her particular style. Very Bohemian, Marilyn.
The design maven came to town and we spent a wonderful afternoon together, eating at Oxbow, checking out the interior of Rust Restaurant, and talking in our new downtown Delta Bohemian office/crib and shopping at Delta Creations where she bought a metal grate from Delta Debris, before heading south.
As a result, check out her I’ve Got the Delta Blues, Part I, The Blues and Barbeque where she features Clarksdale. We are proud to list MS Design Maven in our Delta Bohemian Blogroll.
Check out the MS Design Maven Facebook Page, too. Hit the LIKE button.

MM,
Thank you so much for your feature on the MS Design Maven blog and Per Design Studio!
Yes, I am a lover of earthy, elegant design AND the Mississippi Delta.
I am sooooo glad we have reconnected, and I am looking forward to “motoring to Clarksdale” in the near future for some more blues and Q. Can’t wait for another visit with my fellow Delta Bohemian!
