VIDEOS and PHOTOS
Rust Restaurant located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta in Clarksdale is not only a very popular place to eat dinner and have cocktails in the bar or on the screened in porch, but it is also a venue for hearing live music. This past week Malcolm Lightnin’ and Cameron Kimbrough took their show down a notch or five and performed during the dinner hours at Rust.
Watching these two men perform in a performance hall is always a yummy treat and they make you want to dance and shout and a whole lot of other things. How were they going to sound during dinner in a casual, intimate restaurant?
Well, let me tell you, they were better than good. They were wonderful. Malcolm played his electric guitar and Cameron used only his snare with brushes. Sweet. Watch the short raw video where Malcolm begs us to not put him on Facebook.
We then headed on over to Red’s Blues Lounge where Roger Stolle of Cat Head, Jeff Konkel of Broke & Hungry Records and Photographer Lou Bopp were filming their new documentary “We Juke Up In Here.” Big George Brock started off the evening followed by Jimmy Duck Holmes. Enjoy the short raw video of Duck from inside of Red’s and outside on the street. Musician Bill Abel is engineering the sound for the documentary. We encourage you to pre-order your copy of “We Juke Up In Here” slated for a April 2012 release.
