PHOTOS VIDEOS
The past week held more activities and fun in our area of the Mississippi Delta and beyond. We couldn’t make it to everything. We especially hate we missed the Mr. Tater Memorial Jam Night at Club 2000.
Here is what we did cover….
The Lyric Theater in Oxford continues to offer excellent concerts in an intimate venue which promotes DANCING in your own space. Marc Broussard graced the town last week with his amazing vocals, performance skills and outstanding band. His hot new self-titled album is out and we especially love the song “Yes Man.” By the way, Snoop is on the horizon at The Lyric in late October! “>Watch the short montage video of Marc Broussard in this post.
The Ole Miss Rebels whooped up on Southern Illinois (42-24) and The Grove was a magnificent place to be before gametime. See photos in gallery.
Delta Bohemian Becky Bobo Williams celebrated her birthday with a few close girlfriends at The Alluvian Bar and Lusco’s Restaurant in Greenwood. ;”>See photos in gallery.
Prior to the quiet birthday celebration, the group of Delta Bohemians took in the amazing exhibit of photographs by the talented Mississippi Delta native Kathleen Robbins who now resides in Columbia, South Carolina where she is on staff at McMaster College of Art at the University of South Carolina. Her Greenwood photography exhibit features works from “Into The Flatland” and is on display through December 2011 at the unique architectural offices of Beard + Riser at 201 Main Street. Visit Kathleen’s website to learn more about our talented Mississippian who is making her artistic difference around the world. “>See photos in gallery.
The new Delta Bohemian office space at 149 Delta is proving to be a good move. We have had several visitors, including the dynamic documentarian and media arts educator currently residing in New Orleans, Mark Sindler, with his lovely friend Yvette Muise, fiber artist from Cheticamp, Nova Scotia. “>Watch the short video and see photos in gallery in this post.
The 64th Annual St. Elizabeth’s Parish Faire had a successful turnout and great weather. Watch the simple video to give yourself a brief glimpse at a local, small town faire in the Mississippi Delta. Bruce Brewer is the vocal talent and a long time friend of The Delta Bohemian. “>Watch the short video and see photos in gallery in this post.
