(Mississippi)
It is hard to believe I first met this talented young Mississippian over a year ago at the Pickled Okra in Cleveland, Mississippi. Charlie Worsham was doing a low-key performance there in preparation for his upcoming tour fronting Taylor Swift. We featured him here on the DB in an article after that wonderful night. Every one of Charlie’s YouTube videos on his self-named channel have captured my heart and I just knew he was destined for great things. I feel privileged to have connected with this young man early in his journey.
Tuesday, August 20, 2013, the Charlie Worsham Rubberband CD was released by Warner Bros. Records. Recently Charlie performed on Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show and yesterday morning on Fox & Friends. He has been traveling the country for months promoting this new release and I think it has paid off. His first single “Could It Be” is already climbing on the Country Music Charts.
The reviews are beginning to come in and so far, the critics agree; this young man is an exceptional new talent on the country music scene. One of Charlie’s strengths, and he has many, is his songwriting. His songwriting ability is mentioned in the same sentence as another Mississippi writer, William Faulkner. Go Charlie!

Follow Charlie on his Facebook Page, on Instagram @charlieworsham or on Twitter @charlieworsham or @TheWorshamFans. Worsham is a social media hound dog.
All 11 tracks will have BEHIND THE SONG videos posted up in the coming days. For now, watch the BEHIND THE SONG video for his first hit “Could It Be.”

PS. Although I think every song is strong on this debut album, I remain partial to “Mississippi in July.”

PSPS. Charlie often reveals his faith when interviewed. That is admirable.
