CLARKSDALE, Mississippi
VIDEO and PHOTO GALLERY
Multiple Blues Music Award winner, Charlie Musselwhite, who has been on tour with Ben Harper for their Grammy-Award-winning blues album “Get Up” has been coming to the Mississippi Delta since he was a child, but recently he admitted that he has felt more connected to the Delta than he ever has before. Why?
Henrietta and Charlie visited their home away from home—Clarksdale, MS—three times recently, and all three times they have taken pedicab and back road Delta Bohemian Excursions with Poor William and Magical Madge! They love the Delta and all it has to offer: bucolic scenery, spectacular sunsets, bodies of water teeming with green and shades of flora peculiar to our parts.
But don’t take our word for it. Hear it directly from Charlie and Henrietta. we ain’ lyin’; they approve this message! 🙂

During our most recent excursion, Madge asked Charlie “What does riding around the back roads in the Mississippi Delta do for you?”
Charlie:
“It softens my heart.”
“Like on a cellular level, my whole body is just humming. Hummmmmm!”
“It’s just so calming and it feels right.”
Henrietta:
“It produces the ear-to-ear grin.”
Charlie:
“Yeah. Like the number threeeeeeee.”
“It feels like home. It feels really good. It just feels natural.”
Henrietta:
“I notice a big change in Charlie when he’s here. Like…..the groovy guy.”
Charlie:
“It’s restful. The aches in my back go away. It’s true. I can really relax. The tension just pours out of me.”
Charlie and Henri Musselwhite own the building at 313 Sunflower Avenue, which used to be Lady on the Levee Restaurant. It is for sale. It overlooks the Sunflower River and has a large open loft on the second floor. Interested buyers, please contact Middleton Realty. It’s a great spot!
