Walk With Me Lord! Walk with me. These are words I say and pray often. They come from a Traditional Spiritual song that lives deep within my heart and soul.
When I hear Lucious Spiller sing it, I feel blessed and ministered to. Lucious makes it his own. The song when sung, and I sing it often when I am alone, and especially when I am alone working, has a way of inspiring.
The lyrics to the song vary but I understand why. It is a spiritual and when singing, spiritually inspired, the original lyrics can take a back seat to the praise and worship to God.
Enjoy this collection of performances of the Traditional Spiritual Walk With Me Lord which is also known as I Want Jesus To Walk With Me.
The first video was recorded and posted directly to our Delta Bohemian Facebook Page on May 19, 2013. The recording recently appeared on the news feed again and received some new attention. We decided to upload it directly to our Delta Bohemian YouTube channel yesterday. Watch and listen to Lucious Spiller singing Walk With Me Lord while I am riding through the Mississippi Delta.
In the second video, I only captured a fraction of Lucious performing the song by request when he attended Clarksdale’s Fellowship Community gathering at First Presbyterian Church. The photograph above was taken of Spiller after the meeting ended.
The third video is Lucious Spiller performing it at the semi-finals of the 30th Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee where he won 2nd place in the Solo/Duo category.
All the rest are some I found on YouTube. I pray this blesses your day and that you will ask Jesus to walk with you. He’s just waiting for you to ask.
While I’m on this pilgrim journey
While I’m on this tedious journey
While I’m on this Jesus journey
Please. Walk with me.
