Grand Reopening Levon’s Bar and Grill on the Sunflower Strip

Official GRAND REOPENING LEVON’S BAR & GRILL is Thursday, May 26, 2016, featuring one of The Delta Bohemian’s favorite musicians, Lightnin’ Malcolm, whose brand of Hill Country Blues will begin around 8:30 p.m.

Hollywood may have the Sunset Strip, but the recently opened and relocated Levon’s Bar & Grill will now be anchoring the renaissance on Sunflower Avenue (the emerging Sunflower Strip) in downtown Clarksdale. Johnny Cass and wife Naomi Casaceli moved from Sydney, Australia to Clarksdale last year to open Levon’s Diner in the old Masonic Lodge located on the corner of Third Street and Issaquena Ave., across from the iconic Greyhound Bus Station.

Quickly outgrowing the former space, the lovely Aussie couple decided to relocate to a much larger space at 232 Sunflower Avenue, which includes the former Dreamboat Restaurant and much more on the Sunflower Strip.

Levon’s Bar & Grill features an eclectic menu with live music at least twice a week. The hours of operation for now will be Thurs. – Sat. from 4:00 p.m. until late, and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until…, with music beginning mid-afternoon on Sunday for three hours or so, and again after dinner service on Thursday nights starting around 9:00 p.m. Gonna be awesome!

Having owned and operated two successful restaurants in Sydney, Johnny and Naomi are customer service oriented folks. Levon’s hours, ambience, menu and plans early on will be as fluid as seep water under the levee. Fear not gastro-intestinal Epicureans, the chance to sample Levon’s exceptional musical and culinary fare will be organic and soon established.
