STEVE “Piano Man” SAUER performs at GZBC in Clarksdale.
The Delta Bohemians first heard Steve perform when he sat down at the upright piano at Dixie and Stan Street’s Hambone Art Gallery on Tuesday night. WOW! We next heard him play impromptu at RUST Restaurant on Wednesday. We caught his performance at GROUND ZERO BLUES CLUB on Thursday night and he was fantastic. Steve played at RED’S LOUNGE and many other places around town during the Juke Joint Festival 2011.

Fantastic videos of a GREAT weekend in Clarksdale!!! Surpurb effort to have the videos posted so quickly. Congratulations to all that were involved in the continued success of the Juke Joint weekend. Keep the MO JO going….It keeps getting bigger and better.

    • Thank you Orrs! Madge did an incredible job pulling together what she did with hundreds upon hundreds of pics, off-the-cuff videos, and making it all work with local music! Poor William

    • Marjorie and Wayne,
HOW in the world did I go all weekend long and never see you two?!?! DAMN. Somethin’ wrong with that! I’m certain, however, you both enjoyed and relished the activity, music and atmosphere in our wonderful town.
Miss ya and see you soon. 😎

  2. Hey Delta Bohemians! Thanks for the fun Juke Fest slide show memories. What a crazy-good weekend. (We totally lucked out on the weather.) Now, we get to start planning next year’s fest — April 14, 2012 weekend, by the way. Thanks again for taking part in this year’s Juke Joint Festival. Rock on, Roger at Cat Head

    • Hello fellow Delta Bohemian Roger! We appreciate your support and for being a Delta Bohemian!

Roger, our only regret from the weekend was our inability to clone ourselves so we could be everywhere at all times! There is something for everyone, day AND night. It was a glorious thing to see EVERY PLACE abuzz with so many folks, both Clarksdale Fixtures, Semi-Fixures AND wanna be Semi-Fixtures wandering around and just enjoying the hell out of life. Bless you, my friend.

Thank you, too, for commenting! 😎

  3. Dennis "Jack" Parker says:

I came down to the crossroads not knowing what I’d find myself doing during the JJF and I’m so thankful that I did. The townfolk were fantastic and the tourist were just that. Every step of 4×4 block of Clarksdale downtown said it all while I explored the place where it all started with the bluesmen of yesterday and glad to say the paticular ones I meet those 4 days I stayed. Great time had and truely grateful to all that I crosspaths with that made my stay like I came back home to a home away from home.

    • “Jack” – Hola! Thanks for the comment. I am so glad you enjoyed your visit during the JJF. Was it the first time you had visited here? When you come back, and I know you want to, you will become a Semi-Fixture of Clarksdale. There are many out there in the whole wide world!

We would love for you to Subscribe to The Delta Bohemian!!!! It is free and will keep you connected with the Delta Bohemian life here.

Take care and holler if you head back this way! 😎

  4. This weekend did nothing but reaffirm my love for Clarksdale and all of my good good friends that help create such a wonderful community. Madge thanks for the hard work in getting these up, I’ll be in touch about possibly getting some copies of photos if possible. Billy… you provide me with an avenue for dialogue I don’t get to engage in enough. I’ll keep getting my fix vicariously through your site, until then, love y’all and can’t wait till my next visit.

    Proud DB fo’ life,
    Cecil Abels III

  5. Enjoyed the slide shows – would like you to write a piece or two for Coahoma Living – let me know if you’re still up for it!

  6. Matt, thanks for your kind words! I would love to write a piece or two for Coahoma Living! Thanks! Billy

  7. I just received your email and it’s finally starting to happen here in Springfield, Missouri. They say it funny but they also say this. “It’s all good”. It’s what I found so I’ll roll with every bit of it but I’ve gotta say that I’ll always miss Boston and Cape Cod! But, it is all good.
