STEVE “Piano Man” SAUER performs at GZBC in Clarksdale.
The Delta Bohemians first heard Steve perform when he sat down at the upright piano at Dixie and Stan Street’s Hambone Art Gallery on Tuesday night. WOW! We next heard him play impromptu at RUST Restaurant on Wednesday. We caught his performance at GROUND ZERO BLUES CLUB on Thursday night and he was fantastic. Steve played at RED’S LOUNGE and many other places around town during the Juke Joint Festival 2011.

Hey Delta Bohemians! Thanks for the fun Juke Fest slide show memories. What a crazy-good weekend. (We totally lucked out on the weather.) Now, we get to start planning next year’s fest — April 14, 2012 weekend, by the way. Thanks again for taking part in this year’s Juke Joint Festival. Rock on, Roger at Cat Head

I came down to the crossroads not knowing what I’d find myself doing during the JJF and I’m so thankful that I did. The townfolk were fantastic and the tourist were just that. Every step of 4×4 block of Clarksdale downtown said it all while I explored the place where it all started with the bluesmen of yesterday and glad to say the paticular ones I meet those 4 days I stayed. Great time had and truely grateful to all that I crosspaths with that made my stay like I came back home to a home away from home.

This weekend did nothing but reaffirm my love for Clarksdale and all of my good good friends that help create such a wonderful community. Madge thanks for the hard work in getting these up, I’ll be in touch about possibly getting some copies of photos if possible. Billy… you provide me with an avenue for dialogue I don’t get to engage in enough. I’ll keep getting my fix vicariously through your site, until then, love y’all and can’t wait till my next visit.

    Proud DB fo’ life,
    Cecil Abels III

Enjoyed the slide shows – would like you to write a piece or two for Coahoma Living – let me know if you’re still up for it!

I just received your email and it’s finally starting to happen here in Springfield, Missouri. They say it funny but they also say this. “It’s all good”. It’s what I found so I’ll roll with every bit of it but I’ve gotta say that I’ll always miss Boston and Cape Cod! But, it is all good.
