Our relationship began three years ago when I spotted a small group of nattily dressed folks exiting Cat Head on a Sunday morning following the Juke Joint Festival. When I get that urge to connect I try to always heed the call and, thankfully, they were eager to make my acquaintance, too.
Director Lee Quinby was part of the group led by Producer, and now occasional Guest Bohemian writer, Erickson E. B. Blakney. They founded the True Delta Project which now boasts two completed documentaries, the outstanding TRUE DELTA and the recently released HOWL-N-MADD MISSISSIPPI BLUES FAMILY MAN.
Lee and her video assistant Daniel “Danny Boy” Scarpati gave us a quick interview while standing outside their home-away-from-home, the Delta Bohemian Guest House. They were here filming the successful Arts & Education Program at the Delta Blues Museum.
