By PONTIFICUS MINIMUS
In the Apostle Paul’s first epistle to his protégé Timothy, he writes: “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
Godliness and the pursuit of the spiritual trump humanity’s concern with the physical body. However, scripture does not say physical exercise is of no value. During Paul’s time folks worked with their hands, ate lean and healthy if they had enough money for food and were not of the glutinous kingly class.
They largely walked where they went, lived frugal lifestyles compared to even the poorest in America today, and did not check their sandals at the door of Burger King or Mickey Dees. Today, the conscientious person in a non-third world country needs to focus on the physical as a way of keeping our consumption and excess in check.
Scripture also states that the human body is the temple of the Lord and we are commanded to take care of this temple. If we do not take care of our physical bodies, if we are able to, then any perceived or expressed spirituality will do little good as we will not be around to bless others or will be ineffective due to not being at our best.
Pontificus, like his “more fleshly” sibling Poor William, struggles with self-discipline and godly living. Both of the lads enjoy living large and only recently have they decided to live a healthier lifestyle. At present, they are enjoying feeling better, largely due to eating healthy and fresh foods, exercising, and drinking KANGEN Water™–low-acid, high-alkaline.
While Pontificus has always believed a balanced spirituality is predecessor to balancing the physical self, he is now finding that his beginning with the physical still has positive consequences for the mental, emotional, and mostly importantly the spiritual.
Though spiritual folks inherently know focusing on the needs of others is part and parcel to our spirituality, it is also imperative that we take care of our own needs to the extent that we are healthy enough to be of service to others. If we are out of balance, then how can we help others be in balance? We can’t!
Pontificus is continuing his work on the physical and is in the process of nurturing the spiritual. For him, it includes: Eating fresh, nutritious, and smaller portions, drinking healthy water designed to lower the acidity in the body (cancer cells and other ailments have difficulty thriving in an alkaline environment), exercising regularly, and most importantly, nurturing the reflective and visceral part of his intelligently designed, non-carbon-based make up. Carpe Delta Diem!

FYI-All. Kangen water at P.W’s home place is appx. $50.00 an ounce. Very good water though! Goes well with O.C. (Ten Year Old).
Scotchless water? Very interesting concept. Not sure if there’s a market for it.
Sounds to me like some time soon there’s a Greer/ Magoo/Howell bender in the cards. Katie bar the door when that storm shows up.
