Daily I get a lot of junk mail; I’m sure you do too. But yesterday, while rifling through my emails, I received one I would normally have put in the category of unsolicited. Nope. This one caught my attention.

The Subject line read “Expedia names Clarksdale as the best place to escape in Mississippi.”

Huh? Did I read that right? “Expedia names Clarksdale as the best place to escape in Mississippi!”

I followed the link and sure enough, Clarksdale was selected by Expedia as the standout destination in our beautiful State. After scrolling through all the other states listed in alphabetical order, I got to Mississippi and found they had devoted 117 words of content about our little town of 15,000+ residents who welcome visitors from far and near daily!

Glory! 

They gave love to the Delta Blues Museum, who is celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year, Red’s Lounge, Muddy Waters’ Cabin, Mississippi Blues Trail markers, Quapaw Canoe Company, Tennessee Williams heritage in our Historic District and……….DELTA BOHEMIAN TOURS! We are beyond grateful for this recognition. All of Clarksdale will surely benefit from this endorsement.
