Hello all you Bohemians out there; check out our own Shonda Warner’s quote in the New York Times about the recent surge in farmland prices. Miss Shonda did not fall off a watermelon trailer yesterday, and the DB suspects that she is right on (as usual).
Markets for anything can be fickle, but the surge in farmland prices has caught the eye of market pundits worldwide. Hear what Commodities guru Jim Rogers said about agriculture just last year in an interview with Forbes:
“There’s going to be a huge shift in American society, American culture, in the places where one is going to get rich. The stock brokers are going to be driving taxis. The smart ones will learn to drive tractors so they can work for the smart farmers. The farmers are going to be driving Lamborghinis. I’m telling you. You should start Forbes Farming.“ – Jim Rogers
You smart DB readers decide for yourselves; study the illustration below to see where farmland prices have been, go read the NYTimes article, then hit your back button and leave your comments on the Delta Bohemian.
